The plan shows the intended construction of two bridges across the Thames: that at Vauxhall, opened in 1816, and the other near the Strand, here named Strand Bridge but upon its opening in 1817 renamed Waterloo Bridge. The border is marked off in half miles, with the plan itself divided into lettered squares for use with Langley and Belch's 'Companion to their new map of London'.
