A near-comprehensive collection of Japanese naval charts used aboard the S.S. Essex Lance. This steamship went through several incarnations during its 24-year existence. In 1918, it made its maiden voyage as War Courage and was renamed Glensanda the following year. In 1928, it became Essex Lance and operated as a shipping vessel for the next 14 years, before being attacked and sunk by a German submarine during the Second World War.
