What does this notice cover?

This Privacy Information explains how we use your personal data: how it is collected, how it is held, and how it is processed. It also explains your rights under the law relating to your personal data.

What is personal data?

What personal data do you collect?

We may collect the personal data from the following people to allow us to undertake our business:

• Prospective and live customer contacts
• Supplier contacts to support our services

We collect personal information about you in various ways, such as through our website and our interactions with customers and suppliers.

This includes:

• Name, contact and address information including your email address that you provide by registering or by making a purchase on our site www.crouchrarebooks.com. This includes information provided at the time of subscribing to any newsletters or services we offer, downloading information posted on our site, posting material or requesting further services.
• Financial information relating to your payment for items (such as credit card number and expiry date). This is held securely through SagePay/Opayo and Global Payments.
• Personal photographic identification if you are selling an item to us for the purpose of ensuring transactions are bona-fide and we can identify the seller. We are also required to request a proof of identification if you are a new customer and are paying in person with card at our shop and would like to take the item with you.
• Demographic information such as postcode.
• Other information from your interaction with our site, services, content and advertising, including computer and connection information, statistics on page views, traffic to and from the site, IP address and standard web log information.
• If you contact us, we may keep a record of that correspondence.

What are my rights?

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights, which we will always work to uphold:

a) The right to be informed about our collection and use of your personal data. This Privacy Notice should tell you everything you need to know, but you can always contact us to find out more or to ask any questions by contacting our data protection officer.
b) The right to access the personal data we hold about you.
c) The right to have your personal data rectified if any of your personal data held by us is inaccurate or incomplete.
d) The right to be forgotten, i.e. the right to ask us to delete or otherwise dispose of any of your personal data that we have.
e) The right to restrict (i.e. prevent) the processing of your personal data.
f) The right to object to us using your personal data for a particular purpose or purposes.
g) The right to data portability. This means that you can ask us for a copy of your personal data held by us to re-use with another service or business in many cases.
h) Rights relating to automated decision-making and profiling. However, we do not use your personal data in this way.

How do you use my personal data?

Under the GDPR, we must always have a lawful basis for using personal data. This may be because the data is necessary for our performance of a contract with you, because you have consented to our use of your personal data, or because it is in our legitimate business interests to use it. Your personal data will only be used for the following purposes:

• Fulfilling orders.
• Personalising and tailoring our offers to you, including sending catalogues and invitations.
• Communicating with you. This may include responding to emails or calls from you.
• Supplying you with information by email that you have opted-in to (you may unsubscribe or opt-out at any time either directly from the email or contacting info@crouchrarebooks.com)

You will not be sent any unlawful marketing or spam. How and where do you store or transfer my personal data?

We will only store your personal data within the European Economic Area (the “EEA”). The EEA consists of all EU member states, plus Norway, Iceland, and Liechtenstein. This means that your personal data will be fully protected under the GDPR or to equivalent standards by law.

Do you share my personal data?

We will not share any of your personal data with any third parties for any purposes without your express permission, subject to the below exceptions:

• Mailing houses: when sending marketing material such as catalogues and invitations we provide password protected lists of names and addresses. We normally use Global Mailing and Park Communications.
• Couriers, shippers and other subcontractors such as installers for the purpose of fulfilling orders.

How can I access my personal data?

If you want to know what personal data we have about you, you can ask us for details of that personal data and for a copy of it (where any such personal data is held). This is known as a ‘subject access request’. Please contact info@crouchrarebooks.com
