A book of twelve cartoon maps of Europe, with each country represented by a humorous personification and accompanying verse. The introduction attributes the book to a young lady "in her fifteenth year", but it was actually engraved and written by William Harvey under his pseudonym 'Aleph'. Harvey (1796-1866) was an engraver and designer, born in Newcastle upon Tyne. He moved to London in 1817, where he studied under some of the best artists of the day, including Thomas Bewi...
