Biography
Jean Baptiste Delure (c1660-1736) was an editor and publisher of prints and maps, as well as an engineer of mathematical and scientific instruments. He also manufactured globes, but only two are recorded: the present celestial globe, and a terrestrial one of the same dimensions, produced in the same year. These were presumably designed as a pair.
