Rare Prints
We offer a selection of travel and topographical prints, with a particular emphasis on rare prints of London, as well as a selection of fine art prints by artists such as Canaletto, Dürer, and Piranesi.
Alongside our rare maps and atlases, Daniel Crouch Rare Books also holds a fascinating array of rare prints that span centuries of artistic and geographical exploration. Our carefully curated selection features old master prints by legendary engravers such as Albrecht Dürer, showcasing the pinnacle of craftsmanship and detail from the Renaissance era. Alongside these, we offer fine engravings inspired by the grandeur of Renaissance art, capturing the beauty and complexity of this pivotal period in history.
Our collection extends to the magnificent architectural plates and whimsical creations of the 18th century's greatest print-makers, including Piranesi, Zocchi, and Wagner. These rare prints not only demonstrate exceptional artistic skill but also serve as windows into the architectural traditions of antiquity and the romantic imaginations of their time.
We also specialise in rare prints that document the spirit of travel, exploration and topographical discovery. These pieces transport viewers to distant lands and bygone eras, offering insights into the landscapes and cultures encountered by explorers throughout history. A particular focus here at Crouch Rare Books are the rare prints of London, a city that has captivated artists and observers over the centuries. These prints chart the architectural, historical and social evolution of London, providing a unique visual record of the city's transformation.
From the masterful strokes of Canaletto to the intricate engravings of Dürer and the visionary works of Piranesi, our collection at Daniel Crouch Rare Books is a tribute to the art of printmaking and the enduring fascination with the world around us. Whether it's the architectural marvels captured by 18th-century print-makers or the rich topographical and travel prints that chronicle adventures and discoveries, each piece in our collection offers a glimpse into the past, inviting collectors and enthusiasts to explore the beauty and complexity of rare prints.
