Notes

Rare map of Falmouth.

The Borough of Falmouth is caricatured as a greedy octopus attempting to gain control and extract revenues from the Parishes of Falmouth and Budock. Below the title is a table recording the acreage, population, ratable value, rates, and loans and liabilities of the Borough of Falmouth, Parishes of Falmouth, and Parish of Budock. Edwin Olver was also the author of ‘The Pictorial Guide to Falmouth and Its Surroundings’.
