Books in Bloom at Firsts London

For Firsts, we’ll be presenting a selection of maps and plans for London’s most beautiful gardens.

This includes the formal organisation of Chelsea Physic Garden as surveyed by John Haynes in the eighteenth century.

Decorated with floral imagery and Georgian gentlefolk strolling along the Thames, it shows not only the layout of Chelsea Physic Garden, but also the plants cultivated and the demographic that once sojourned there.
