Notes
The print label of the Portsmouth book and printseller Thomas Whitewood. Whitewood is know to have traded from the address from the early 1770s to the early 1800s. The business was continued by his son until the 1820s.
The label is pasted to the verso of a mezzotint 'Telemachus at the Court of Sparta' engraved by Thomas Burke after Angelica Kauffman and published by W.W. Ryland in 1773.
