Notes
Originally published in paperback in 2003, this 2009 edition marks the first of the more desirable hardback editions.
The Map
The large-scale map of Berk and the Meathead Islands features in the first book in the series. The islands are part of the larger Barbaric Archipelago that is the setting for the majority of the 'How to Train Your Dragon' book series, and a map is often included at the beginning of each book. These maps sometimes focus on a particular part of the Archipelago, and, occasionally, on locations further affield such as Lava-Lout Island in 'How to Twist a Dragon's Tale', or the Great West Ocean in 'How to Ride a Dragon's Storm'.
