Daniel Crouch launches in New York with Burns Night celebration
Daniel Crouch Rare Books opened launched its New York City premises on Wednesday with a Burns Night celebration.
The new shop, located on East 64th Street, marked the night with a small exhibition of Celtic cartography including James Dorret’s 1750 map of Scotland (now sold) and Macdonald Gill’s 1928 Agricultural Map of Scotland (£8000).
“It was a real pleasure to be able to celebrate the opening of our new shop and host the New York book collecting community with a jolly ‘Burns Supper’ themed party,” said partner Daniel Crouch.
The new gallery is a second location for the rare maps specialist in addition to its gallery in St James’s London. Crouch and his partner in the dealership Nick Trimming appointed Noah Goldrach, formerly of Sotheby’s and the gallery’s Kate Hunter to manage the New York branch.
Daniel Crouch currently has a stand at the Winter Antiques Show and will show at the Miami Map Fair starting February 3.
