A detailed map centered on the Red Sea, Upper Nile River, and the Gulf of Aden, from Jean Lattre's 'Atlas Moderne'.
Active in Paris during the latter half of the eighteenth century, Jean Lattre engraved, published and sold maps, globes and atlases in conjunction with numerous notable cartographers, such as Rigobet Bonne. One of his most successful publications was the 'Atlas moderne', which appeared in 1762 containing 35 maps by various important mapmakers.
