This unique example of The Great Bear was produced to assist the Directors of the London Transport Museum in deciding what size to produce the poster to go on sale in the LTM shop. (They had only seen the artwork as a quad royal size print).

This unique example of this seminal piece of work from the Brit-Pop school is for sale and is accompanied by full provenance which includes an early example of work in progress showing different station names than appeared on the finished piece.

The previous owner was creative director at the London Transport between 1986 and 1995 was instrumental in granting copyright permission to Simon Patterson to produce The Great Baer, received this piece of work as a gift from the artist.
