Why Frieze refuses to stand still

Daniel Crouch Rare Books (London) focus on the history of the capital with their prints exhibition Eternal but ever changing: 200 images of London charting 600 years of the City.

The show capitalises on the 350th anniversary of the Fire of London and the English Civil War and the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death.

Panoramas and topographical views of London are included along with prints showing society people at leisure. One shows a victorious Oliver Cromwell on horseback (above), posed with London in background. Completed by Rombout van den Hoeye, it was published in Amsterdam between 1650 and 1657. It is priced at £2500. crouchrarebooks.com
