Mapping the World
A guide to rare maps.
Daniel Crouch is a specialist dealer in antique atlases, maps, plans, sea charts and voyages dating from the fifteenth to the nineteenth centuries. He strives to acquire unusual and quirky maps in fine condition at Daniel Crouch Rare Books in Mayfair.
His colleague and friend, Professor Jerry Brotton is author of ‘A History of the World in Twelve Maps’, and will share his interesting standpoint on maps as inaccurate and subjective, as well as a window on the people and societies that made them.
The talk is suitable to all map and history lovers, and will enlighten all age groups on the history of mapmaking. Explore the map room of National Geographic London store following the event, with wine from around the world in our cafe.
